American Legion youth team tryout Sunday

Tryouts for 14-and-under and 13-and-under American Legion-affiliated baseball teams will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday at the Vintage High School varsity baseball field. All interested players must be 13 or 14 years of age as of April 30, 2007. Each team will be comprised of about 14 players from throughout Napa.
The ultimate goal of these players are to hopefully make the Rasmusen Painting American Legion team (19-and-under) after progressing through the junior Legion team (17-and-under).

These teams will play on a transitional field (80-foot bases and 55-foot pitching distance). This will be a traveling tournament team with possible league participation of at least 20 games.
Home games will be at Cleve Borman Field at the Veterans Home of California in Yountville and the season will start in mid-March, extending through early July.

Sponsorships are still available. Steve Skinner will serve as instructor of baseball for these two highly competitive teams.

Players or parents that are interested can contact Kyle Rasmusen at 326-9225 or Billy Smith at 253-3601./Register
