Vintage High School extended its winning streak to three in a row overall, beating Vacaville Tuesday night, 51-40, to open the Monticello Empire League boys basketball season.

Napa High’s girls basketball team couldn’t have opened its Monticello Empire League season up on a better note.

Mike Garibaldi, who coaches high school water polo and swimming in Napa, plays the role of “Paul” in the motion picture, “The Pursuit of Happyness.” Garibaldi has a short scene in the movie with Will Smith talking about his future financial plans.

The Vintage High School girls wrestling team was able to sneak in one more tournament before the calendar year ran out, and it was definitely worth it.
