Rabbi Eli Tenenbaum of the Chabad Jewish Center of Napa Valley leads Napa’s first ever public menorah-lighting ceremony celebrating Hanukkah.

Dozens of people gathered in the Napa Town Center rotunda to take part in the Jewish holiday tradition, which commemorates the rededication of the Temple of Jerusalem after the Macabee war victory over the Seleucid empire.
According to tradition, after the victory, there was only a small amount of oil left to light the eternal flame in the temple but, the lamp continued to burn for eight days while new oil was prepared.
