Walking in the Light at Unity
The “Walking in the Light” series continues at Unity Church. This Sunday at 10 a.m., Dr. Richard Southern speaks on “The Light of God Surrounds Us,” taken from Unity’s Prayer for Protection. Earth-based faiths at Unitarians
The Rev. Bonnie Dlott will speak on “Prayers to the Earth” this Sunday at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of North Bay. She will explore the ideas that “earth-based” faiths share and how her faith influences the way she celebrates the winter holidays. St. Helena United Methodist Church
Does the coming of Christmas sometimes feel like an impending storm? Does it stir up grief, money issues, family tensions or loneliness? The holidays can be a tough time of year. Napa Valley Center for Spiritual Living December services
The Napa Valley Center for Spiritual Living invites you to participate in its December services and activities. The Rev. Janet Garvey will tell the traditional Christmas story in a nontraditional way. Services are held at 9 and 10:30 a.m. with the youth program at the 10:30 a.m. service. Special activities include a candlelight service at River City on Dec. 17 at 7 p.m. and participation in the World Peace Meditation on Dec. 31 at the Center, 4-5 a.m. Wherever you are in your spiritual journey, come experience how you can change your thinking and change your life. Napa Community Seventh-day Adventist Church
Pastor Marvin Wray will give a sermon entitled, “An Amazing Gift ... The Empty Box” this Sunday at the Napa Community Seventh-day Adventist Church. The Napa Community Seventh-day Adventist Church also presents “Christmas is Forever.” There will be two performances. Church service in American Sign Language
On Sundays, St. John’s Lutheran Church offers the 10:45 a.m. service in American Sign Language. This outreach ministry is led by Kylie Kirkpatrick, a certified interpreter. Celebrate Recovery
A Christian-based program called “Celebrate Recovery” addresses hurts, habits, hang-ups and addictions; the purpose is to use God’s healing power. Celebrate Recovery helps to develop spiritual maturity, and is a one year-long program. Cost is $60 and the group meets at Foothill Christian Fellowship, 2898 Laurel St., Napa, on Fridays. Classes begin at Napa Valley Lutheran Church
“Listening for God,” explores spiritual issues through the lens of modern literature and meets on Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. The second class, “Living the Marks of Discipleship,” is offered on Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. and Fridays at 10:30 a.m. and explores the lifestyle of Christian living.
