Jim Landis and Sandy (Foster) Landis of Napa celebrated their 50th anniversary on Sept. 30 at the home of the Stornettas. They married on Oct. 6, 1956, in Berkeley and have lived in Napa County for 36 years.

Sandy loves traveling all over the world with her former baseball wives of 40 years. She also enjoys attending her grandchildren's sports and choir activities. She works part-time and is a retired school principal's secretary from Vintage High School, which she did for 25 years. She also worked at Vichy Elementary School.

Jim attends many major league alumni golf fundraisers and enjoys golfing, participating in his grandchildren's sports and school activities and traveling. He is a retired professional baseball player with the White Sox and Indians.

His children are Vicki and Galbie Robinson of Napa; Craig and Laura Landis of Murietta; Michele Stafford of Elk Grove and Mike Landis of Napa. They have five grandchildren.

A 50th wedding anniversary party was held on Sept. 30 for Jim and Sandy Landis at the beautiful garden of Sonja and Paul Stornetta on Hedgeside Avenue, who made the event so much fun and special for all.

The dinner party was attended by over 100 family and friends. The maid of honor, Dawn James; best man, Bud McGee; bridesmaid, the groom's sister, Ann Proctor; and the flower girl, the bride's sister, Laurie Jones, were all there to celebrate. The maid of honor gave a speech telling of how Jim and Sandy met. Their grandson James also spoke honoring his grandparents. The Landis' children, Craig and his wife Laura, Vicki and Galbie Robinson, Michele Stafford and Mike Landis were there to celebrate and talk about their family's years of fun, trips and their years of traveling with their family during their dad's baseball career. The Landis' five grandchildren, James Landis, Kyle and Matthew Stafford, Tyler and Olivia Landis made it a complete family gathering for the Landis celebration. It was a very special occasion to have so many family and dear friends travel so far to help with the celebration. Dancing and music of the '50s and '60s followed the dinner and cake cutting.
