Service in American Sign Language
On Sundays, St. John’s Lutheran Church offers the 10:45 a.m. service in American Sign Language. This outreach ministry is being led by Kylie Kirkpatrick, a certified interpreter. Unitarians explore ethic of truth telling
Laura Ingram and Leonie Pickett, both fifth year students at Starr King School for the Ministry at Berkeley, will speak on “Speaking the Truth In/To Power” Sunday at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of North Bay. During the service, they will “excavate the power of words through speech and silence, music and meditation.”

Unity Church
Come for the “Walking in the Light” December series at Unity Church. Rev. Robert Norton speaks on “Out of the Darkness into the Light,” at the 10 a.m. service. We light the first candle on the Advent Wreath. The 11:30 a.m. forum is titled, “Use your Chaplains: Why this is hard for many,” with Sally Harper. Everyone is welcome. Listen for the wisdom of your bodies
In a sermon Sunday at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of North Bay, Alexandra McGee will ask, “Do You Bring Your Body to Church?” She notes that “Sacred disciplines are both vital and elusive. Are we open to the wisdom that our bodies have to offer? Does our faith make space for that wisdom? How does it affect our ability to love our family members and do our social justice work?”

Crosspointe Community Church
The Gospel message exploding into Europe is our topic as we study though the book of I Thessalonians on Sunday mornings. Sunday service begins at 9:30 a.m. with light contemporary worship. Child care is provided from nursery through grade 5. Youth group meets Tuesdays at 7 p.m. for study, games and fellowship. Giving Christmas
There will be a Giving Christmas event at First United Methodist Church, 625 Randolph St., Napa, on Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to noon in the church’s fellowship hall. This event celebrates the true spirit of Christmas by giving visitors an opportunity to give gifts of charity to family and friends. Donation cards tell the nature of the dollar gift made in honor of the recipient’s name. Representatives will be on hand from a number of charity agencies. St. Helena United Methodist Church
Does the coming of Christmas sometimes feel like an impending storm? Does it stir up grief, money issues, family tensions or loneliness? The holidays can be a tough time of year. Celebrate Recovery
A Christian-based program called “Celebrate Recovery” addresses hurts, habits, hang-ups and addictions; the purpose is to use God’s healing power. Celebrate Recovery helps to develop spiritual maturity, and is a one year-long program. Cost is $60 and the group meets at Foothill Christian Fellowship, 2898 Laurel St., Napa, on Fridays. Classes at Napa Valley Lutheran
“Listening for God,” explores spiritual issues through the lens of modern literature and meets on Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. The second class, “Living the Marks of Discipleship,” is offered on Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. and Fridays at 10:30 a.m. and explores the lifestyle of Christian living.
