CORDELIA — The Napa High School girls basketball team came into Messner Gym Tuesday not fretting or worrying about a 0-1 record or a loss 24 hours earlier to Vallejo in a CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Foundation Game.

Despite staggering offensively in the fourth quarter, the St. Helena High boys basketball team recorded its first win of the 2006-2007 season in three tries, 57-53 over the Rio Vista Rams Thursday in the Sutter Home Invitational.

Coach Shawnie Maher and nine members of the Justin-Siena High School cheer team traveled last week to New York City and participated in the 80th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, which begins at 77th and Central Park West and travels along Broadway. It draws 2.5 million spectators.

Napa Valley College’s men’s basketball team outscored San Jose City College by 10 points in the second half Thursday night, but it was too little, too late for the Storm.

The Vintage High School boys basketball team will be featured on Cal-Hi Sports’ TV show Saturday night at 9 p.m. on The CW Bay Area 44 (cable Channel 12). Cal-Hi Sports was in town to film Vintage’s “Midnight Madness” program Nov. 11./Register
