Jack and Barbara Peterson of Napa celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Oct. 5 in Carmel. Time was spent with family vacationing in Carmel, where the couple honeymooned. The couple married on Oct. 6, 1956, and have been in Napa County for 36 years. Jack and Barbara met at the U.S.O. in Oakland, where Barbara was a hostess and Jack was stationed at the Naval Air Station in Alameda.

Barbara enjoys golfing with her husband and has been a volunteer at Queen of the Valley Hospital for 20 years. She is active at St. Apollinaris Catholic Church and Catholic Charities. She was a medical secretary and bookkeeper for Dr. John P. Zimmermann for 23 years.
Jack is an avid reader and he enjoys playing golf with his son and wife. He loves to garden and is active with Catholic Charities. Jack retired after 41 years of banking. He was employed by Wells Fargo, Napa Valley Bank and Vintage Bank.

The couple's children are Tim Peterson of Hidden Valley Lake and Middletown; and Ted Peterson of American Canyon. They have two grandchildren, Taylor and Sierra Peterson.
