Residents of Loma Linda, Kristi Amato and Mark Brown announce their engagement with plans to marry today, Nov. 19, 2006, in Angwin.

Kristi is the daughter of Tom and Karen Amato from St. Helena and the granddaughter of Frank and Marie Amato of Napa. She graduated from Pacific Union College Prep in 1996 and earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from Pacific Union College in 2001. She is employed as a recovery room nurse in Redlands.

Mark is the son of Kirk and Cindi Brown of Lincoln, Neb. He graduated from Midland Adventist Academy in 2000 and earned a degree in music and pre-dentistry from Union College in 2005 and is now at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry.
