The Mini Thrift Shop, at the corner of Fourth and Randolph streets in Adams Hall, is open every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and is closed in December and January. Sponsored by the United Methodist Women, proceeds go toward missions for women and children, both local and world-wide./Register

Giving Christmas at First United Methodist

There will be a Giving Christmas event at First United Methodist Church, 625 Randolph St., Napa, on Dec. 3 from 10:30 a.m. to noon in the church's fellowship hall. This annual event celebrates the true spirit of Christmas by giving visitors an opportunity to give gifts of charity to family and friends. Donation cards tell the nature of the dollar gift made in honor of the recipient's name. Representatives will be on hand from a number of charity agencies. Celebrate Recovery

A Christian-based program called "Celebrate Recovery" addresses hurts, habits, hang-ups and addictions; the purpose is to use God's healing power! Celebrate Recovery helps to develop spiritual maturity, and is a one year-long program. Cost is $60 and the group meets at Foothill Christian Fellowship, 2898 Laurel St., Napa, on Fridays.
