Coats for Kids kicks off

The annual Coats for Kids project has brightened up Christmas for many low-income families who otherwise might have faced a bleak holiday.
The Napa Community Coats for Kids program is sponsored by the First Baptist Church and the Napa Police Department.

The program is asking the community's help this year to give about 500 less fortunate families winter coats, a Christmas meal and other holiday treats.
Harvest Elegance, a dinner show and silent auction to raise funds for the program is Friday at the Elks Lodge on Soscol Avenue.

Cocktail hour is 6 to 7 p.m., with the show, dinner and auction to follow.
Talent for the show features local high school youths.

Tickets cost $65 a person. Make checks out to Coats for Kids and mail to 2590 First St., Napa 94558. All donations are tax deductible.

Information is available at 226-1812./Register
