Losing trust in Land Trust

Dear editor,

I recently read that the Napa County Land Trust used donated funds ($9,999), facilities (Connolly Ranch), news letters and staff (John Hoffnagle) to support the political cause of Measure I. The Land Trust has an obligation to use these funds and efforts to save and protect Napa County land, not for political campaigns. We who have supported the Land Trust's efforts will now need to figure out how to limit the uses of our donations, or just not donate.
This action by the Land Trust saddens me, whether Measure I is good for the community or not. The Land Trust has become just another political action committee. The board of trustees of the Land Trust should be ashamed for tarnishing such a well deserved reputation.
