Too good to keep secret
Dear editor,
I have had such good experiences at past Community Projects sales that I decided to brave the freeway traffic once again this year and attend their annual "Puttin' on the Glitz" sales event. It was one of the best decisions I've made all year!
I was delighted to find that the thrift shop was so festively appointed for the occasion. Upon entering, I was met with friendly greetings and big smiles by the members who were there to make the event happen, but that wasn't the best part. Imagine nabbing a DKNY jacket in perfect condition for only $20! I saw name brands such as Harari and Tadashi that sell for big bucks here in the city and was able to purchase two jackets and a dress, all for under $75! One of my favorite brands is St. John's knits. I purchased a number of their garments for a mere fraction of what I would have paid for them here. Oh, and the hats! Spectacular hats were priced under $10! I couldn't believe my eyes! Don't even get me started on the sparkling rhinestone and gold jewelry. Someone needs to come up with a new word to describe how sensational the bling-bling bargains were!
I hesitated a bit before writing this and thought, "Do I really want everyone to know about my secret shopping bonanza?" Then, I recalled the courtesy with which I was treated by everyone who worked there, especially the gal who was in charge of pricing most of the merchandise. We chatted for a while, and she told me about all the noteworthy work that Community Projects does for the Napa community, so I decided to help spread the word. It is the least I can do, because not only do I have all of my Christmas shopping done before November, but I take pride in the fact that my dollars will go toward such a worthy cause.
I guarantee shoppers will find whatever they are looking for at this store! The Community Projects Thrift Shop carries terrific household items, clothing for every season, jewelry, handbags, housewares, small appliances, linens, toys, books, music, movies, home dcor, accessories, art and collectibles. Great stuff, good lighting, friendly employees, volunteers and attractive displays make this thrift store a must see!
