Napans are National Merit Commended students
The headmaster of Trinity Prep, Jack Kersting, announced that Kelsie Hoke has been named a Commended Student in the 2007 National Merit Scholarship Program. A letter of commendation from the school and National Merit Scholarship Corporation, which conducts the program, will be presented by the headmaster to this scholastically talented senior.
Barbara Franco, principal of Napa High School, announced the Napa High School's semi-finalist and Commended Students. Napa High School senior Thomas Gartner is one of the nation's 16,000 National Merit semi-finalists, and will go on to compete for finalist status in February. Among the 34,000 National Merit Commended students are seven Napa High seniors: Emily Anderson, Emily Baraff, Elizabeth Crain, Elena Hoffnagle, Leah Reisman, Lauren Robinson and Jacquelyn Stone./Register
Head of Blue Oak nominated by Columbia
Scott Duyan, head of Blue Oak School in downtown Napa, was nominated by his peers as an "outstanding" example of a school head by Columbia University Survey. The Klingenstein Center Teachers College of Columbia University notified Blue Oak School Board Chair Matt Stone about this prestigious nomination./Register
