The sermon for Saturday is “The Father Quest” by Stephen Arrington.
“Treasures of the Undersea” by Stephen Arrington will be presented as a vespers program on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. at the church. Napa First Presbyterian Church
The history and development of Christianity will be the topic a six-week video lecture series at the Napa First Presbyterian Church little chapel. The series starts Wednesday from 6:45 to 9 p.m. Enter at Third and Randolph streets. There is no charge.
The lecturer is Dr. Luke Timothy Johnson, professor of New Testament and Christian origins, Emory University. He has many published books and articles to his credit and has received several awards for his teaching excellence.

Napa Valley Lutheran Church
Our class, “Listening for God,” explores spiritual issues through the lens of modern literature and meets on Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. The second class, “Living the Marks of Discipleship,” is offered on Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. and Fridays at 10:30 a.m. and explores the lifestyle of Christian living. Celebrate Recovery
A Christian-based program called “Celebrate Recovery” addresses hurts, habits, hang-ups and addictions; the purpose is to use God’s healing power. Celebrate Recovery helps to develop spiritual maturity, and is a year-long program. Cost is $60 and the group meets at Foothill Christian Fellowship, 2898 Laurel St., Napa, from 6:15 to 7 p.m. for dinner and from 7 to 9 p.m. for meetings.
