Wrong to place No Child blame on a few schools
I am writing to request that your publication correct the erroneous statement made in the Sept. 2 front-page article titled "Schools face No Child sanctions." In the first paragraph of that article, it was stated that the performance of five Napa Valley Unified School District schools "has placed the entire district under sanctions of the No Child Left Behind law." This statement is incorrect.
Angelides is no actor, and Arnold's no moderate
Phil Angelides has a tough row to hoe at the moment. He is just not as telegenic and physically appealing as our current movie star governor and -- in an age when television is the primary medium by which the majority of voters get to know political candidates on the state and national level -- he is clearly at something of a disadvantage.
