Fire ripped through a once-popular Carneros night club and bar -- and site of a movie set -- Tuesday evening. Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the blaze that destroyed the long-abandoned Dukes bar at the intersection of Highway 121 and Cuttings Wharf Road.

The once-thriving night club, owned by Napa Valley developer George Altamura, is most remembered as the site where parts of the movie "Howard the Duck" was filmed in 1986.
Justin John Lizak, 32, of Napa, and Kameron Evans Dunkle, 20, of San Luis Obispo, were booked into county jail on suspicion of arson.

Firefighters rolled to the scene around 6:15 p.m. At the same time, California Highway Patrol received a call of a speeding car on Bay View Avenue, just south of the burning structure.
The CHP officer spotted the car on Bay View Avenue and attempted to stop it, CHP Officer Jerry Rico said.

The car pulled into a private driveway, where the pair left the car and fled on foot.
"The officer was able to detain the passenger (Dunkle), but the driver got away," Rico said.

The officer called for back up from the CHP helicopter and sheriff's deputies, who quickly arrived at the scene.

A short time later, Lizak was found walking on Bay View, Rico said. "He was taken into custody without any trouble."

Firefighters contained the fire in about an hour.

The building didn't collapse because of the concrete walls, but it will have to come down, according to the California Department of Forestry. Damage was estimated at $50,000, CDF said.

The fire closed Cuttings Wharf and sent heavy, black clouds of smoke swirling across Highway 121.

When CHP officers searched the car Lizak was driving, they found a loaded handgun and drugs, Rico said. In addition to the arson charge, Lizak was charged with DUI and possession of a loaded firearm and drugs.

Dunkle was also charged with being drunk in public and possession of drugs.

" Justin Lizak is 23 years old, not 32. Is there any connection with the fires that were reported in the Salvador area? "

" Did Justin Lizak have a fake id too, or just a typo. He's 23 yrs. old, not 32. "
