Fishing Report

Saturday is one of the annual “Free Fishing Days.” Sept. 23 is the other one. No license required on either day. Gather up the kids and just go do it. Here are some places where you can find some action:

Napa Valley gets new rabbi

Rabbi Eli and Chanie Tenenbaum and their two children, Mendel and Mushka, have recently arrived in the region in order to establish the Chabad-Lubavitch Center of Napa Valley, serving the Jewish community. They will be starting off the new year with High Holiday services at the Elks Club on Soscol Ave. The Tenenbaums are available for classes with Jews interested in studying about their heritage, and will answer questions about anything in Judaism. Jennifer Corte and Erich Jinks, both of Napa, announce their plans to marry on Sept. 28 at Robinson Family Vineyards. The bride's parents are James and Alysandra Corte of Napa and her grandparents are Art and Barbara Allen and Florence Carte of Napa. The bride graduated from Justin-Siena High School in 2000 and is a third generation member of the Vineyard Trails Chapter of NSDAR.

Ribardiere

Henry and Joan Ribardiere recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married on July 1, 1956. Their 50th wedding anniversary took place in Los Molinos, surrounded by friends and loved ones. Henry worked as a mechanic, retiring from Syar. Joan was a housewife involved in her children's activities. Henry and Joan have two sons, Pete (Susan) of Napa and John (Veronica) of Illinois. They have five grandchildren: Chrissy, Jessica and Beau of Illinois, and Keri and Katie of Napa. After 50 years of marriage, they still enjoy camping and fishing together, spending much of the year on the road.

Jamison-Skinner

Edward Allen Skinner Jr., also known as Allen Skinner and Eunice A. Jamison were united in marriage on June 18 by Rev. Don Richardson of the Episcopal Church in Napa at the courtyard gazebo of the Meadows Care Center. Attendants were Harry and Marge Godshalk from the Meadows Retirement Home and Russ and Marie Smith. Allen is a retired oil well driller who worked in Saudi Arabia and Eunice is retired from being a private duty caregiver. They are residing at the Springs of Napa.

Carrell

Bob and Melcena Carrell of Napa celebrated 50 years of marriage on the week of July 4 aboard the cruise ship, "Paradise," along with 18 family members, including honeymooners Deanna (their niece) and Ken McDade of Las Vegas.

Church

Mr. and Mrs. David Church celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 12 at the Napa Elks Lodge with a buffet dinner attended by approximately 100 friends and relatives.

Duncan-Garrett

Julie Duncan and Troy Garrett, both of Sonoma, married July 22 at Stone Tree Golf Club in Novato. The maid of honor was Jamie Merryweather and bridesmaids were Jenny Keller, Megan Deemer, Kelly Arata, Candace Duncan and Justus Meno-Elaison. The best man was Casey Rogina and groomsmen were Justin Garrett, Thomas Dankworth, Darrell Griffith, Mike Noto and Mike Duncan. The flower girls were Isabela and Angelina Delgadillo; the ring bearers were Trent and Tyler Garrett.
