Bob and Melcena Carrell of Napa celebrated 50 years of marriage on the week of July 4 aboard the cruise ship, "Paradise," along with 18 family members, including honeymooners Deanna (their niece) and Ken McDade of Las Vegas.
Bob and Melcena were married Aug. 25, 1956, in Reno, Nev., and have lived all their married lives in Napa.
Bob attended Yountville Elementary School and is a graduate of the class of '55 of Napa High School. He was employed at Mare Island Naval Shipyard for 34 years, retiring as a superintendent of Shop 71. Melcena worked for the Napa County Public Works Department for 20 years and retired as a bookkeeper from Treadway & Wigger Funeral Chapel.
They both enjoy traveling, camping, boating, gardening and their family.
Their children are Melende (Vern) Ward of Clovis, Lesa (Walter) Roderick of El Dorado Hills and Rob (Denise) of Shingletown. They enjoy six grandchildren, Rick, Brittany, Alayna, Breanna, Nick and Mathew.
