The 76th Annual Napa Town and Country Fair ended Sunday, but not without a some pizzazz.

Hundreds of Napans congregated in downtown Napa to celebrate the final day of the fair with a parade. Thirty colorful floats added to the festive vibe as they made their way down First, Main and Second Streets.
"It's part of the community and if we live in the community, we had better support the community," said Frank McQueeney, who along with his wife, were among the hundreds of spectators at the parade.

Napa Active 20-30 Club sponsored the event and gave anyone who wanted to march an opportunity to do it.
"That's what's great about the parade, it's something that anybody can fit into," said Robin Gamble, vice president of Napa Active 20-30 club. The club puts on the parade in exchange for use of the Napa Valley Expo facilities for its annual Halloween Extravaganza event.

This year's parade-fair theme of "Beach Blanket Baa-Baa-Lon" could be seen sprinkled throughout the parade.
Napa Saints Football cheerleaders rode in a large float decked out with lawn chairs, plastic palm trees and beach blankets. Vintage High School's marching band looked ready for a beach party, dressed in beach garb, as they strutted down the street and filled the air with sweet music.

Boys & Girls Club of Napa Valley members were also in the beach-party mood with their "Kids of Summer" float; 4-H Club members rode in a float inspired by the club's Four Leaf Clover logo, which they titled "Fun in the Sun with Four Leaf Clover."

"My very favorite are the Mexican horseman," Wanda McQueeney said.

Charros Herradero's horsemen donned traditional Mexican charro outfits and pranced their horses down the street, giving the crowd a taste of Mexican culture. Lilia Navarro's Ballet Folklrico Club of Napa Valley College added more Mexican culture and tradition to the event.

Napa Valley Expo staff awarded $2,200 to the best floats said Denise Davis, business assistant at Napa Valley Expo. She said the parade has been a tradition since the inception of the fair 76 years ago.

"It brings the community together," she said. "It's just good old-fashioned, small town fun."

The fair also included Napa Mounted Sheriff's Posse; Napa Fire Department; Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Assembly; Napa Mayor Jill Techel; Napa Expo staff; Napa County Supervisor Harold Moskowite; Miss Napa County Maggie Stewart and her honor court, Kayla Goldberg, Kelly Snowden, Sarah Rutan and Christina Frost; Napa City Councilman Harry Martin; Golden 1 Credit Union; Napa City Council candidate Peter Mott; California Custom Ride; Napa County Resource Conservation District; Napa Pepperettes Baton Corps; Brandon Degraw's destruction derby car; JKJ Racing; Big Kids Toys Inc.; Clover Stornetta Farms; Napa resident Bobby Knight; Allied Propane Service of Napa; Syar Industries Inc.; Napa Active 20-30 Club; and Commercial Power Sweep Inc.
