Nestled in the stunning Mendocino Coast, Pacific Union College's Albion Field Station offers summer classes including outdoor education classes geared toward teachers, and a digital art photography class. These five-day classes are offered July 10 to 14 and July 15 to 20 this year. The Albion Field Station is located six miles south of Mendocino and operated by Pacific Union College, a four-year Christian liberal arts college in Angwin. ParentsCAN workshops and support groups
ADD/ADHD and Bipolar Parents Support Group meets on second and fourth Wednesdays of the month from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at 3299 Claremont Way, suite 3, in Napa. For information, call Chris Lieber at 259-8656.

Parent to Parent Workshop: This St. Helena workshop offers a two-part program that teaches parents the importance of parent to parent support, and techniques to be a parent mentor. A $25 stipend to parents who participate in both sessions will be provided since child care and transportation is not available. Training is only offered in Spanish. ParentsCAN Spanish support groups

Spanish speaking parents of children with disabilities are invited to meet and support one another at the following group meetings:
St. Helena -- the St. Helena Family Center, 1440 Spring St., on the third Friday of the month from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Napa -- the Napa Park Homes at 790 Lincoln Ave., on the first Thursday of the month from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

Also in Napa -- St. John's Catholic Church, on the second Friday of the month from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

Vacation Bible School

"Let's celebrate with our Friend!" is the theme of the Vacation Bible School for children from 4 to 13 years old at the St. Helena Spanish Church, 975 Brown St. in St. Helena from July 10 to 14. All materials will be provided for the students. Registration begins on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to noon and will continue on July 9 at the same time, and on July 10 at 5 p.m. Everyone welcome. The Napa Valley College Customer Service Academy offers customer service training at the Napa Chamber of Commerce on Thursday and July 13 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Each training module includes materials and eight hours of interactive training. Children's Ballet Workshop

A one-week summer intensive to encourage appreciation of classical ballet for children 5-12. Session two begins Monday and session three is Aug. 7. Cope Family Center summer classes

Baby Steps: Educational support group for parents of newborns. July 12 through Sept. 6 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Ages 0-6 months, Wednesday mornings, ages 7-12 months, Thursday mornings.

Terrific Toddlers: Helps parents navigate the tricky terrain of toddlerhood. July 13 through Sept. 7.

Positive Discipline: Help your children achieve self-discipline, responsibility, self-esteem and problem solving skills. Time to be announced.

Mother's Group (Spanish): This group gives mothers a place to meet and connect with other mothers. Fourth Friday of July and August.

Ages & Stages: A fun, interactive, one on one activity to help parents determine if their child's development is age appropriate. Call for an appointment.

Drop-In child care: Children are cared for in our child care room by our on staff child care provider. Parents must stay on site. Monday mornings, 10 a.m. to noon.

Kids' Turn: An educational program for children ages 4-14 years and their parents who are going through a divorce or separation. Times to be announced. Sliding scale fee.

Cooperative Co-Parenting: Teaches parents family mediation tactics. Evenings, 6 to 8 p.m.

TRIBE -- Guiding Good Choices: For parents of children ages 9-14 years to help improve family management skills and reduce the likelihood of substance abuse and problem behaviors in adolescence. Evenings 6 to 8 p.m., dates to be announced.

Money Smart: A financial literacy class designed to start at the basics and build on your knowledge though a five week series of workshops. Check financial literacy schedule for dates, times and locations.

Grief support for children and adolescents

Come join with others to heal from the death of a loved one. Hospice of Napa Valley is offering summer grief support groups for children and adolescents. Bereavement counselors will facilitate grief education and the expression of grief-related feelings. Groups will offer a safe, supportive place where students can express themselves and learn new coping skills, using art projects, conversation, books, and games to stimulate a challenging and fun experience for all. Groups meet weekly at Hospice of Napa Valley, 414 South Jefferson Street, Napa, and are free of charge. Kindergartners through fifth-graders will meet on Wednesdays, from this Wednesday through Aug. 9. Grades 6 to 8 and grades 9 through 12 will meet on Thursdays, starting this week, through Aug. 10. Meeting times are from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Sign-ups will be taken until July 12. Hospice of Napa Valley grief support

Hospice of Napa Valley offers grief support groups for community members who have experienced loss. Meetings are free and open to the public. Groups ongoing for adolescents and children, Thursdays from 4 to 5 p.m. in American Canyon, Tuesdays from 10 to 11 a.m. in Calistoga. Tea & Comfort

Hospice of Napa Valley is offering Tea & Comfort, an opportunity for women who have experienced the loss of a loved one to get together in a relaxed environment and meet others who have had similar experiences. Diabetes Wellness Program

NIC explores solutions to end of life wishes

Most Americans expect their families to carry out their wishes about end of life care. Traditional planning and forms will not ensure compassionate care, but conversations will. Mary Matthiesen, program coordinator for the Sacred Dying Foundation, explores how we can create a dignified end to life. Summerville at Villa del Rey is proud to invite you to the next installment of their speaker series, "How to Choose a Level of Care." Neuropathy Assn., Northern California

Cornerstone Equestrian Center seeks volunteers

Volunteer assistance is needed for a Napa County therapeutic horseback riding program. Equestrian mentorship, career guidance and riding time (as time permits) is provided in exchange for your assistance with helping our disabled child and adult riders. We need you to lead the horse, walk alongside the rider, and groom and saddle the horse. Mounting and dismounting assistance is especially needed. Vine Village presents its annual celebration fundraiser at the lovely Napa Valley Country Club. Napa Valley Horsemen's Buckle Series

On July 9 and Aug. 6, silver buckles will be awarded at the end of a five-show series to accumulated high point winners in divisions I through III.
