Positive and professional

Dear editor,

As St. John the Baptist Catholic School ends another school year, our principal, Mrs. Jordan, has gotten a lot of public reaction in the last two weeks. She is established as a premiere principal who shows compassion and gives a darn about the kids like there is no tomorrow. As many parents and kids know, the three predecessors lasted fewer than three years. We are hoping that she can have another amazing year of miracles, because she cares about the school and people involved.

I support her and the school as any other parishioner does. At first, I cleaned the schoolyard and the church as part of the Lenten act. However, the act extended to networking with fellow parishioners who drop off kids at the school.

Recently, I started to set the tables for the last day of school by cleaning the doorways and picking debris from the rooftops. The project took two days to do, but it was worth it. The public reaction I received from the staff and the kids was positive. At St. John's Catholic School, the staff is friendly but professional to the highest degree. They are nice but not touchy-feely, since the people in the school have boundaries to live by, thus making the school environment safe for everyone to learn and work.

The secretaries at the school know the rules and regulations as if they were in the Holy Bible. They care about people but make no bones about certain issues, and tell you how they feel about it. They take messages for Mrs. Jordan; also, they are her biggest cheerleaders because they work with her every day of the school year. They care and listen to people's problems. They will lift you up with their positive but professional demeanor.
