No on A to protect values

Dear editor,

Homeowners like me need to Vote no on Measure A to protect our property values.
There is no doubt that my house is worth more because it is in Napa County. Whenever I tell others where I live, they say something like; "Napa is such a beautiful place." Over the years I have lived here, I have seen Napa County go from being identified with the State Hospital to being the protected vineyard and hills gem of the Bay Area.

Measure A is a direct threat to this. It is designed to end all of the land use rules that we have benefited from, by threatening lawsuits whenever the board of supervisors acts to define the existing rules, or make new rules to protect our area.
Recently, the San Francisco Chronicle says that real estate values may be headed downward. In the past, real estate values in Napa have held steady or gone up, even in hard times in other Bay Area places, because of our vision of being the agricultural and open space county.

I urge all homeowners to vote no on Measure A, to protect our future.
