Dear editor,

The Napa County Democratic Central Committee urges Napa County voters to vote no on A and yes on H on June 6.
Measure A's backers have presented Napa County voters with a caramel-coated poison apple. One moment they praise Napa County elected officials for supporting laws that have helped protect and promote our agricultural heritage and enviable quality of life, and the next moment they say that they can't be trusted in the future.

If Measure A becomes law, our county supervisors will spend millions of dollars defending future decisions instead of investing limited taxpayers dollars to improve county services for every citizen -- negatively effecting local funding for law enforcement, health and human services and flood protection. Vote no on Measure A.
Democrats have always led the fight to invest in the future, and that is why we are asking voters to vote yes on Measure H. Measure H will provide critically needed funding for safer roads, road maintenance and transit alternatives, like buses and van pools. In fact, two-thirds of the half-cent sales tax goes back to each Napa County community to invest in local road improvements.

Measure H is also endorsed by our local firefighters and police officers, as well as every city council in Napa County.

We proudly join many local elected officials and organizations and strongly recommend voters say no on A and yes on H.

Eric Knight, chair

Napa County Democratic Central Committee
