First of all, let me preface this letter with the fact that I am an employee of Dey, L.P. Second, let me state that I am a Napa resident, and have been for 15 years. I've seen some amazingly biased letters to the editor before, but Mr. Zachary Payne's letter titled "Can't stand the heat" takes first prize.
A week-long toast to schools' 'classified' workers
The week of May 21 through May 27 is an important one in California's public schools. This is a week during which we take time to recognize the valuable contributions made by those individuals who -- literally and figuratively -- make our schools and school districts run. These people are the bus drivers, custodians, food service workers, instructional assistants, maintenance and operations folks, secretaries and other clerical staff who make up the classified professionals in schools and school districts.
