A Napa motorcyclist was killed on Silverado Trail Wednesday morning when his Harley-Davidson collided with a van.

Authorities have not released the name of the 66-year-old victim because his next of kin had not been notified as of Wednesday afternoon, according to sheriff’s Lt. Eric Erickson, head of the county coroner’s office.
The motorcycle was traveling northbound on the Trail, north of Skellenger Lane. The driver of the van, Linda Grassi, 58, of Napa was southbound.

The van crossed into the oncoming lane, hitting the Harley, according to CHP Sgt. Diana McDermott. Grassi suffered a right broken arm and cuts to her legs and arms, according to CHP Officer Jerry Rico.
This is the third deadly crash on the Trail near Skellenger Lane within the past two months. It is the seventh fatal crash in Napa County this year.
