A male motorcyclist from Fairfield died Wednesday afternoon in a solo crash in Angwin.
The crash took place just before 3 p.m. on Howell Mountain Road north of College Avenue, when Noble H. Johnson, 57, -- riding through the Napa Valley with a group of other riders - - lost control of his motorcycle and crashed, according to Napa Sheriff’s Sgt. Chris Perry.

Perry said there was some indication Johnson victim may had a medical problem just prior to the crash. The initial emergency call to the scene indicated the individual suffered severe injuries. Perry said he was pronounced dead at St. Helena Hospital.
California Highway Patrol officers are investigating the cause of the crash.

This is the sixth fatality on Napa County roadways this year. Two people died in consecutive days earlier this month near the same Silverado Trail location. Three people in one vehicle died in an American Canyon crash earlier in the year.
