Carpet One supports breast cancer research

Napa retailer Carpet One Custom Floors is introducing a new collection of specially-designed pink ribbon welcome mats in April to continue their support in the fight against breast cancer.

This spring marks Carpet One's fourth "Carpet One Welcomes Your Support" campaign, which raises funds for the American Cancer Society's breast cancer programs through sales of the distinctive welcome mats.

During the previous three campaigns, Carpet One stores nationwide have raised more than $340,000 for the American Cancer Society and the Canadian Cancer Society.

The new spring welcome mats, designed exclusively for Carpet One, feature the flowers and colors of the season.

Carpet One Custom Floors will donate 25 percent of the sale price from each mat to the local American Cancer Society office; all funds from the store will be earmarked for breast cancer awareness, research and advocacy.

"We are really looking forward to continuing our support for this cause in the upcoming campaign," said Scott Carston of Carpet One Custom Floors. "We feel it's extremely important to be a socially responsible business and to give back to our community. Breast cancer awareness is a very important issue and we are proud to support the American Cancer Society in their efforts to eradicate this disease."

"We are very happy that Carpet One continues its program with the American Cancer Society," says Angela Geiger, ACS Vice President for Corporate Initiatives. "Every day they are helping get the word out about the importance of breast health and how to talk to your doctor about this disease, and they are doing it in a meaningful way for the customer."

The indoor/outdoor welcome mats are extremely durable, stain- and water-resistant and machine-washable. All seven welcome mats are available, beginning April 1 through June at Carpet One Custom Floors for $19.99 each. Twenty-five percent of the sale of each welcome mat will go to your local American Cancer Society chapter.
