Napa Valley Symphony presents acclaimed violist
The Napa Valley Symphony presents its fourth classical subscription concert of the season, featuring acclaimed violist Nokuthula Ngwenyama, on Sunday at 3 p.m., and Tuesday at 8 p.m. at the newly refurbished Lincoln Theater in Yountville. Recognized as one of the foremost instrumentalists of her generation, Ngwenyama will perform Vaughan-Williams' "Suite for Viola and Orchestra." In addition, the symphony will perform "Carnival Overture" by Dvork and "Petrouchka" (1947 version) by Stravinsky.

Revolver revives the sounds of the '60s at DGs
Revolver, a quartet of seasoned rock musicians who grew up rocking to the sounds of the '60s, will make its first Napa appearance at DG's Saturday. Inspired by the songwriting and melodic hooks of groups like the Beatles, Stones, Beau Brummels, Hollies, Kinks, Animals, Lovin' Spoonful and Buffalo Springfield, they took up instruments and formed groups to experience the energy and sensations of playing in a fired-up band. Some of the first tunes they learned were some of the well-crafted gems from artists of the '60s.
