Napa will negotiate museum site

The Napa City Council gave the go-ahead Tuesday for staff to begin negotiating with the Napa Valley Museum to build a campus in downtown Napa.

The museum, which is now located on the ground of the Veterans Home of California in Yountville, wants to build a larger facility on Second Street, behind the Goodman Library.

A structure of 30,000 square feet or more, possibly including housing, would occupy the surface parking between Randolph and Coombs streets.

If negotiations to sell the parking property can be worked out, the museum would seek city permits for the museum, which would have to be approved by the City Council./Register
