VALLEJO -- The California Highway Patrol issued an arrest warrant Wednesday for a man who allegedly impersonated a police officer while committing two robberies.

Jose Alberto Ortiz, 24, of Richmond, was wanted on two counts of armed robbery, one count of false imprisonment and two counts of impersonating a police officer, according to the CHP. Both robberies occurred in Richmond.
CHP officers also executed a search warrant at a business that sells police supplies where Ortiz allegedly purchased a red and blue light that police use in unmarked or undercover cars.

A vehicle allegedly used in the robberies was also impounded.
Police said Ortiz should be considered armed and dangerous./AP
