Solano College Theatre turns to suspense with 'Wait Until Dark'
By Register Staff
Solano College Theatre continues its exciting 2005-06 season with the thriller "Wait Until Dark" directed by Hector Correa, which opened Nov. 9.
A Broadway hit, this masterfully constructed work moves from one moment of suspense to another as it builds toward an electrifying, breath-stopping final scene.
Sinister con man, Roat, and two ex-convicts, Mike and Carlino, meet their match in Susy Hendrix. They have traced the location of a mysterious doll, which they are much interested in, to the apartment of Sam Hendrix, and his blind wife, Susy. Roat and his ex-convict sidekicks, through a cleverly constructed deception, convince Susy that the police have implicated Sam in a woman's murder, and the doll, which she believes is the key to his innocence, is evidence. She refuses to reveal its location, and figures out she is the victim of a bizarre charade. Susy knows the only way to play fair is by her rules, so when darkness falls she turns off all the lights leaving all of them to maneuver in the dark until the game ends.
Directed by Hector Correa, this SCT production by Frederick Knott is rated PG.
"Wait Until Dark" will play at the Harbor Theater, 720 Main St., in Suisun every Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m. through Nov. 27.
