Taste of the Valley
The Napa Valley College's Napa Valley Cooking School held its graduation Oct. 28 at the Upper Valley Campus in St. Helena.
Chef Barbara Alexander congratulated her graduates, and Chef Krista Garcia, a graduate of Napa Valley Cooking School, now working as a personal chef and freelance instructor and an adjunct faculty member of Napa Valley Cooking School addressed the graduates, while Anna-Liza Enriquez Cheng, class valedictorian, also spoke.
Napa Valley Cooking School graduating class of 2005 includes Carrie Burse, Aaron Coburn, Anna-Liza Enriquez Cheng, Ryan Favini, David Gould, Leanna Hall, Scotti Hazeltine, Ludwig Hussong, Chelsie Loose, Don Purcell, Ashley Rohde, David Anthony Rubalcaba, Rudy Salas, William Sommers, Kristi Sweezy, Laura S. Timpe and Daniel Williams.
Honor roll students are David Gould, Aaron Coburn, Anna-Liza Enriquez Cheng, Rudy Salas, Scotti Hazeltine, Ludwig Hussong, Daniel Williams, William Sommers and Carrie Burse.
David Gould was honored with the Belle Rhodes award. Aaron Coburn received the Napa Valley Culinary Alliance award. Anna-Liza Enriquez Cheng received the Napa Valley Culinary Alliance award and Marjory Merkel award.

From Dec. 11-22, Meadowood Napa Valley will present the Twelve Days of Christmas, a dozen days of celebrating wine, cuisine and the world's great holiday feasts and traditions.
Twelve of the world's most renowned chefs will collaborate with 12 of the valley's preeminent vintners to create original holiday feasts on 12 consecutive evenings.
Meadowood's celebration of the world's great holiday feasts will include French, Indian, British, Mexican, Hawaiian, and regional American traditions.
Each chef will design a menu that fits his or her creative conception of a "holiday feast," which will consist of five courses paired with Napa Valley's finest wines. The culinary liaison and host for the guest chefs will be Meadowood Executive Chef Vincent Nattress. The table designs and dcor will be re-created each evening in tribute to the culinary style of the guest chef.

Pricing for the Twelve Days of Christmas starts at $1,000 per couple, which includes one night's lodging at Meadowood and dinner seating for two, with 2 percent of each reservation going to Share Our Strength, national nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a hunger-free generation.
Meadowood will donate $2,000 in each of the 12 chefs' names to Share Our Strength in addition to 20 percent of the lodging and dinner price. Share Our Strength was named one of the "Best Charitable Organizations" in the nation by Worth Magazine and is supported by the world's most acclaimed chefs.
