Magical and maddening month of May
The fifth month of the year is upon us -- a month which many feel is the most perfect for its gentle warmth, visual and olfactory delights and for the feeling of promise it offers to those who believe in its magical qualities. As Edwin Teale once said: "The world's favorite season is the spring. All things seem possible in May." Or, if one is of a more curmudgeonly nature (as befits your weatherperson), Dorothy Parker's take on the season may be more appropriate: "Every year, back comes the spring, with nasty little birds yapping their fool heads off and the ground all mucked up with plants."
